Hello readers!!
I’ve received a fair amount of good-humored ribbing about how the Daily Ink goes out 3x a week. I’m feeding those flames today — The Daily Ink will be going out 1x a week, and taking a hiatus until June.
Why the change?
First, the signal-to-noise ratio in ML is getting terrible. Even after I filter out the papers I’m covering here, there’s a lot that I think could use a few years of follow-up work to demonstrate its meaningfulness and validity.
Second, I want each of my posts to provide you with meaning. This means not just covering a paper and calling it a day. I want to move my writings to be more interactive and in-depth, covering an area of research instead of just a paper. This shift needs a lot more time than ~2 days allows.
What doesn’t change?
The Daily Ink will remain an accessible interface for understanding ML research. It’ll still be written in an approachable fashion. I’ll make sure the posts remain non-overwhelming and can be read with your morning bagel and coffee.
What do I have to do as a reader?
Nothing. I really hope you’ll stay subscribed despite this change. Thank you for the early support and the kind words.
I’ll hopefully see you in your inbox the first Friday of June, and then every Friday after that 😊
Until next time,
Arushi
